We attended a range exciting lectures by some prominent people. Students particularly enjoyed Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock pose and answer the questions; Are we made of star dust? And is there other life in Space?

Professor Robert Winston spoke about IVF and developments in this field and took questions from the audience.

Dr Anna Ploszajski gave an engaging talk and demonstration about the importance of materials and their properties for her channel swim. From a chocolate Swiss roll that is buoyant, high energy and waterproof to the design of her swim costume. She also linked swimwear used in the Olympics to biomimicry and why ‘shark suits’ are now banned due to the unfair advantage that they gave!
