SENCO Assistant Teaching/Child Support - Term Time

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Dover Grammar School for Boys. An important aspect of the role will be to assist our SENCo on a day-to-day basis. Our ideal candidate will have versatility across a range of subjects and embrace innovation and strive to develop and enhance the learning experience for the students. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships with individual children is important. You will be energetic and enthusiastic and enjoy working with 11-18-year olds, have a calm manner and good sense of humour.
It is desirable that you have:
- Experience with specifically supporting the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition
- The ability to work closely in assisting the current SENCo, including deputising as required
- Experience planning for and leading small intervention groups with SEND and vulnerable pupils
DGSB is on a very exciting journey and you would be joining us at an important moment in the school's history, as we settle into our brand new school building, which has been constructed on our top field. Our new accommodation will provide us with exciting opportunities both within our curriculum and within the wider community.
