Pastoral Care

We pride ourselves on the level of pastoral support we provide to our sixth formers at DGSB and believe we have developed a reputation in the local community for being the school when it comes to going the extra mile for our students.

If you ever require advice, support or simply a chat, you can rest assured our doors will always be open to you.

Please speak to Mrs. Lavender, Mr. Polden, Mr. Hornus or any other member of staff you feel comfortable with, and we will then do whatever we can to make your time with us as enjoyable as possible.

Young Adult Carers

Young adult carers are young people aged 16–25 who care, unpaid, for a family member or friend with an illness or disability, mental health condition or an addiction.

DGSB is committed to meeting the needs of young carers so that they can attend and enjoy school in the same way as other students and achieve their potential.

We have designated Young Carers School Leads for each Key Stage with responsibility for young carers and their families, as shown on our noticeboards and main website. Support can be accessed via youngcarers@dgsb.co.uk.

DGSB only shares information with professionals and agencies on a need-to-know basis in order to support pupils and their families.
